Mirror
Create a hidden Engine state from the incoming audio. DERIVA generates parameter values and visible tags.
Erosion, Scatter, Veil and Mirror process the signal. Mute, solo, reorder, lock order, lock mutes or listen in DELTA mode.
Submit the active Fragment to The Keeper. The decision starts at 50/50 and subtly shifts after repeated Preserved or Lost results.
Preserved Fragments become Remnants in the Archive. Lost Fragments disappear, but the search continues.

Erosion
Saturation, tone damage, drive and destructive colour.
Drive, Tone, MixYour Archive becomes a record of what caught your attention.
Preserved Fragments become Remnants. The Archive is not just a list; it is a set of views for scanning, comparing, recalling and evolving what you chose to keep.
All and Fav
Browse preserved Remnants, isolate favourites, search by name, filter by tags or Vessels, and recall the sound from its mini-waveform.
Rename, favourite, delete and recall Remnants.
Shuffle selects a random visible Remnant from the current filters.
Vessels organize material without changing the sound.
Statistics stay local and show creative orientation, not analytics reporting.
Preserved sounds can become sources.
Morph lets a Remnant stay attached while new Fractures happen. If the Flowing result is Offered and Preserved, the Archive remembers that lineage.
Morph
Select a Remnant, enable Morph, then Fracture. DERIVA creates a 50/50 hybrid between the selected Remnant and a new Fragment.
Merge
Right-click 2-4 Remnants and Merge them into a blue Merged Remnant. Sever restores the hidden sources.
Scarred
A Remnant affected by a lost Morph Offer. Its maximum Mix is reduced by 10%.
Extinct
A Scarred Remnant that reached 0 maximum Mix. It remains in memory, but can no longer shape the same way.
Discoveries do not have to stay still.
Play the accident.
Live Performance turns generated states into something you can perform. Learn MIDI, recall controller profiles, move through Engines and use Panic when the moment needs a clean reset.

Some things are worth keeping. Others are meant to pass.
DERIVA is not only about degraded texture. It is about attention, memory and the discipline of choosing.
You do not need to keep everything.
DERIVA treats selection as part of the work. The value is not in collecting more; it is in noticing what actually matters.
Letting go keeps you moving.
A Lost Fragment is not a punishment. It is a way to stop protecting every accident and make room for the next one.
Taste is built through decisions.
Over time, the Archive becomes less about presets and more about attention: what you heard, what you chose, what you allowed to pass.

Clear answers before you install.
What does Fracture do?
Fracture generates a new hidden Engine state and visible tags. If ORDER LOCK is off, it can also randomise the Engine order.
What are the Engines?
Erosion adds destructive colour, Scatter creates granular clouds, Veil moves through filtering and spectral colour, and Mirror adds shimmer, reverse bloom and ambient space.
What is a Remnant?
A Remnant is a Preserved Fragment stored in the Archive. It can be selected, renamed, favourited, deleted and recalled.
How does Morph work?
Select a Remnant, enable Morph, then Fracture. DERIVA creates a 50/50 Flowing hybrid between the selected Remnant and a new generated Fragment.
What formats are included?
DERIVA includes AU and VST3 on macOS, and VST3 on Windows.
Does DERIVA need internet?
Internet is used for activation, validation, update checks and external links. Once validated, offline use can continue during the offline grace period.
Does DERIVA include presets?
There is no traditional factory preset browser. Fracture generates repeatable processing states, and Preserved results become Remnants in your personal Archive.
Can I control DERIVA with MIDI?
Yes. Live Performance includes MIDI Learn, controller profiles and performable access to key controls, plus Panic for an immediate reset.
How does Archive backup work?
A paid licence can move an encrypted, owner-bound backup between its two authorised devices. The backup does not expose the licence; trial Archives remain local.
